Migrant leader chosen to speak at UN Summit

We are very pleased to inform you that Ms. Eni Lestari, Chairperson of the International Migrants Alliance (IMA) has been selected to speak as the representative of CSOs of migrants in the opening session of the UN Summit on Refugees and Migrants on September 19, 2016 to be held at UN headquarters in New York City, USA.

This is the first time that the General Assembly has called for a summit to craft a better international response to large movements of refugees and migrants.

Eni’s selection means the position of grassroots migrants themselves in the General Assembly can be expressed.

Let us continue to support opportunities for grassroots engagements in other and future meetings.
