This case study synthesizes the decades-long experiences of migrant unionism in Hong Kong and delves deeply into the core dynamics of the most vibrant migrant movement in the Asia Pacific. In terms of practical know-how, it provides migrant and local workers’ organizations in the Asia Pacific with certain good practices in migrant unionism that are centered around the “bottom-up approach” (i.e., migrants unionizing themselves, then affiliating with trade unions).
