The Role and Process of Remittances in the Labor Export Industry in the Philippines

This report counters arguments that rapid economic development in the Third World can stem the current flow of outmigration, and point out that the effects of the 1997 Asian economic crisis, in particular the growing number of people from Third World countries like the Philippines who leave their country every year to earn a living, attest to this fact.
