APMM and CARAM Asia Represent Regional CSOs in the 17th AFML

ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labor (AFML) held annually by the ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW), serves as platform for multi-stakeholder (ASEAN Member States, employers and workers organizations, and civil society and international organizations) to exchange ideas and best practices on issues relating to migrant workers in the ASEAN region.

As the chair of 2024 ACMW, 17th AFML organized by Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) on 13-14 November 2024 in Vientiane, Lao PDR, focused on the theme “Care Work and Labor Migration in ASEAN”.

Regional CSOs considered as other stakeholder in the process and invited through Task Force on ASEAN Migrant Workers (TFAMW). Through discussion and selection process among the Regional CSOs, Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants (APMM) and Coordination of Action Research on AIDS and Mobility in Asia (CARAM Asia) was selected to represent Regional CSOs in the process and attending the TFAMW CSO Preparatory Meeting on 12 November 2024, in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
