Be A Social Media Superhero!

That’s right! Everyone can be a social media superhero and save the day! Social media can be maximized and utilized for advocacy, from raising a voice against injustice to supporting a cause.

Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants with support of The Karibu Foundation has successfully conduct an amazing Training of Trainers on Digital Advocacy. The training conducted in two sessions, the first session was on 24 June 2023 and the second session was on 1 July 2023.

The training was facilitated by Marjohara Tucay, a long-standing community journalist, experienced in doing digital advocacy and an encouraging facilitator. It was attended by more than 20 participants from 10 countries and regions across Asia Pacific namely Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, and New Zealand.

During the training, participants actively share their experiences and challenges in launching digital advocacy. The discussion has enriched the training with experiences and best practices.

Crafting key messages for digital advocacy was one of the important topics discussed. Messages should be based on analysis, have a crystal-clear call for action and targeted specific audience. Aside from that, participants also discuss the importance of planning the digital advocacy and learn to make their own digital advocacy plan.

The Training of Trainers on Digital Advocacy prepares the participants to be trainers in their communities, organizations, and networks. Last part of the training was all about preparing, implementing and assessment of a digital advocacy workshop. Hopefully, this will increase the digital advocacy of the migrants’ grassroots organizations and advocates.
