“Prisoners in a Foreign Land: Migrant Workers in Jail” is an exploration of the vulnerability of migrant workers to imprisonment and detention on the context of existing policies and practices both in the host and sending countries.

This study provides important basic information on Filipino migrants in Japan, particularly Filipinas in domestic violence situations.

This book features the life stories of Justine, Diana, Amna, Erna and Mei. With their stories, they hope to inspire fellow marriage migrants to continue and strive to make their lives better. It put a human face to an earlier study of APMM called “For Better or For Worse”.

The study is a documentation on the demographic, psycho-social and perspectives of foreign brides in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, as these are areas with concentration of foreign brides in Asia.

This book is a collection of stories about women marriage migrants who did not only face a life of sacrifice and struggle in their new home countries but also found strength and empowerment through joining an organization, reaching out to their fellow women marriage migrants, helping others.

This report counters arguments that rapid economic development in the Third World can stem the current flow of outmigration, and point out that the effects of the 1997 Asian economic crisis, in particular the growing number of people from Third World countries like the Philippines who leave their country every year to earn a living, attest to this fact.
